DJ PIPPI
DJ PIPPI
Italian-born Giuseppe Nuzzo began his DJ career in Germany in the 1980s. Ricardo Urgell, the owner of Pacha Ibiza, headhunted him to be one of the pioneering resident DJS at the renowned club, established during the peak of the Hippy era on the island. Known as DJ Pippi, he has performed at all the major Ibiza clubs and was a DJ at the famous KU Ibiza before it transformed into the world’s Largest Club Privilege.
Alongside the late Jose Padilla and the now-retired Alfredo, Pippi is recognised for creating the Balearic Music genre that originated on the island in the mid-1980s. This musical style promoted freedom of expression by blending various genres, including disco, electronic, rock, flamenco, reggae, funk, and soul, to take listeners on a captivating journey. Since 1983, Pipi has been an integral part of the Ibiza music scene, witnessing the evolution of the island’s clubbing culture from its modest beginnings.
Apart from being a skilled DJ and music producer, in 1995 he penned the summer dance anthem “I Luv You Baby” performed by The Original, which sold over 200,000 copies in the UK and peaked at number 2 on the charts. Today, Pippi entertains audiences at Glitterbox in the world’s number 1 club, Hi. It is a privilege to have one of the founding fathers of the Balearic scene perform in Ireland for the second time at Forest Fest.
