Glasshouse Performs: The Velvet Underground
Glasshouse are a music ensemble from Dublin. Their aim is to bring popular contemporary music and instrumentation to an audience who are otherwise unfamiliar or hesitant to engage with it. They present immersive musical experiences where sound, space and visual design come together to create unforgettable musical experiences.
Recent projects include reimaginings of Ryuichi Sakamoto, The Velvet Underground, Sigur Rós, a new opera with tasteinyourmouth, new works for the theremin, new commissions by Jenn Dreamcycles and R. Kitt and collaborative projects with Irish artists Rachael Lavell, Æ MAK, Anna Mieke and Gareth Quinn Redmond.
They have performed to sold audiences all over Ireland in venues such as the National Concert Hall, Roisin Dubh, Pavilion Theatre, the Abbey Theatre, Douglas Hyde Gallery, the Pepper Canister, The Hugh Lane Gallery, Unitarian Church in Dublin.
