Splendid Isolation

Splendid Isolation are a Traditional based Trio from Offaly and Tipperary. Sean Bourke on Banjo and Mandolin, Ciaran Cooney on Guitar and Lead Vocals and Michael Buckley on Fiddle and Vocals. Ciaran and Michael are from Birr and Ballyboy in Offaly with Sean hailing from Nenagh in Tipperary.

The group formed through the starting of a Thursday night session in The Chestnut Bar in Birr a number of years ago, which is still running to this day. The group brings some different styles from different genres into their selections, including Reggae and HipHop. They have a very unique sound for a small group. The group is well travelled and are always evolving. A lively and exciting set all around.
